BJMP to reward deserving jailers on its 17th year anniversary celebration
The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology is all set to give recognition to deserving jailers on its 17th year anniversary celebration on July 12, 2008. Jail Director Rosendo M Dial will lead the officers and men of BJMP to this milestone which will be held at the Gazebo Royale, Visayas Ave., Quezon City.
The recipients were chosen through the BJMP-NHQ PRAISE (Program on Awards & Incentives for Service Excellence) Committee with special criteria for evaluation on three categories; the unit awards, individual awards and special awards. Criteria for unit awards are best practices initiated by its area of jurisdictions, innovations, improvements and enhancement made, attainment of program thrusts & targets and compliance to the BJMP policies and directives.
Six recipients of 2008 BJMP Best’s UNIT AWARDS include BJMP-IVB which bagged the title as the Regional Office of the Year; ORIENTAL MINDORO PROVINCIAL OFFICE (BJMP-IVB) as Provincial Office of the Year; ODIONGAN DISTRICT JAIL (BJMP-IVB) as District Jail of the Year; TALISAY CITY JAIL (BJMP-VII) as City Jail of the Year; DASMARIŇAS MUNICIAL JAIL (BJMP-IVA) as Municipal Jail of the Year; and RAY OF HOPE VILLAGE (DAVAO CITY JAIL FEMALE DORMITORY) in Region 11 as the Female Dormitory of the Year.
The criteria for individual awards are quality and consistency of performance or achievement, reliability and effectiveness in assigned tasks and impact of performance or achievement.
Conferred the Individual awards are J/CSUPT DORIS REMEDIOS-DORIGO as Regional Director of the Year (R4B); J/SSUPT ARNULFO P OBIAS as Senior Officer of the Year (NHQ); J/INSP ROBERTO C GOTICO as Junior Officer of the Year (NHQ); J/SUPT SAMSON P ABAYGAR as Provincial Administrator of the Year (R6); J/SINSP JOSEFINA P MALAHAY as District Warden of the Year (Tanjay District Jail - R7); J/SINSP GUY JASON J REYES as City Warden of the Year (Ozamis City Jail – R10); J/CINSP GLENFORD Q VALDEPEŇAS as Municipal Warden of the Year (Rodriguez Municipal Jail, NCR); J/SINSP MARY CHANETTE E ESPARTERO as Female Warden of the Year (General Santos City Jail Female Dormitory-R12); JO2 JOVELYN M LASERNA as Female NOR of the Year (Iloilo Juvenile Welfare Foundation - R6); JO2 CARLOS E BOADO as Male NOR of the Year (Operations Division - RI); and MRS. ESTER D DELGADO as Non-Uniformed Personnel of the Year (Accounting Office – R12).
Special awards are given to individuals and organizations who were able to provide noteworthy assistance, support and service to the bureau and its clientele, the inmates. For this year, the Jail Bureau recognizes the contributions of the following person/organizations: HON. MILAGROS “MITOS” MAGSAYSAY, Representative of 1st District of Zambales; HON. AGUSTIN R. PERDICES, Mayor of Dumaguete City; HON. SOCRATES C. FERNANDEZ, Mayor of Talisay, Cebu; HON. JAMES “BONG” GORDON, Mayor of Olongapo City; HON. ARTURO O. RADAZA, Mayor of Lapu-Lapu City; HON. ERNESTO L. NATIVIDAD, Mayor of Gapan City; HON. CHRISTIAN U. TINIO, Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Gapan City; HON. LUIS A. FERRER IV, Mayor of General Trias, Cavite; HON. RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, Mayor of Davao City; HON. SANDRA Y. This year’s theme, “Maayos at Makataong Pmamahala sa Piitan, Alay Namin sa Bayan” depicts the commitment and dedication of the Bureau towards achieving its twin-mandate of humane safekeeping and development of inmates. Highlighting the week-long activity is the Tree Planting in La Mesa Watershed, to be participated in by selected personnel from Region 3, 4A, National Capital Region and the National Headquarters.
