BJMP Revisits Organizational Structure

The BJMP continues to grow and evolve and so do its needs and responsibilities.  On January 18, 2010, as a measure to address this inevitable development and expansion, the Committee on the Revision of the BJMP Organizational Structure, chaired by J/CSUPT DIONY D MAMARIL, passed Resolution No. 2010-01 recommending the reorganization of the whole BJMP organizational structure into nine (9) Directorates, ten (10) support services and two (2) offices directly attached to the Chief, BJMP. <Read More>>>

Aquino vows stronger PNP, AFP
President Aquino has vowed to enhance the capabilities of the military and the police, including the hiring of new recruits and purchasing of equipment, next year. The DILG would receive P88.2 billion to ensure peace and order and public safety. Prisoners gain freedom to vote
The BJMP said that inmates can now decide the fate of local candidates in the next local elections citing that the 20,000 detainees who registered for the May 10 national elections and the newly registered inmate voters is enough to make a difference in the next elections.

Director Rosendo Dial, BJMP chief, cited the turnaround on how powerful detainees' votes have become in the making or unmaking of local leaders and their political adversaries.

Dial said that the number of inmate voters and the addition of the newly registered prisoner voters are enough to alter the result of the elections considering the thin gap between political candidates' number of votes... read more>>

Sept. 10 recommended as Eid'l Fitr non-working holiday
With Ramadan about to end in less than 10 days, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), headed by Secretary Bai Omera D. Dianalan Lucman, has recommended to Malacañang Sept. 10 as the date for the Eid'l Fitr national holiday, the Islamic festival of renewal, reconciliation, and peace that marks the end of the holy month of fasting.
